CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964;SUPREME COURT 1954 RULED  THAT RACIAL DISCRIMINATION UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT WANTED TO END  RACIAL DISCRIMINATION AGAINST AFRICAN AMERICANS. 

AND TO GAIN FULL AND EQUAL RIGHTS  FOR AMERICANS OF ALL RACES.

STRATEGIES USED BUS BOY COTTS ,SIT- INS MARCHES ETC.

PEOPLE DEMANDED SOCIAL CHANGE.

THIS ACT MADE SEGREGATION IN PUBLIC FACILITIES AND RACIAL DISCRIMNATION IN EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATION ILLEGAL.
